Gentle and Effective Spinal Decompression Therapy Explained

Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression is a treatment option that gently stretches the spine, relieving pressure on the discs and nerves in your back. During a Spinal Decompression treatment, you’ll lie on a special motorized table. The top half of the table remains fixed while the bottom half moves slowly, controlled by an advanced computer system.

You will be fitted with a harness around your pelvis and another around your trunk. Positioned either face-up or face-down on the table, the computer-controlled system gently stretches and decompresses your spine, customizing the treatment to your specific needs.

As your spine is stretched, pressure is relieved from the spinal discs, which are gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine. This creates negative pressure in the disc, allowing herniated and bulging discs to retract. This process helps alleviate pressure on the nerves and other structures in your spine, leading to reduced pain and discomfort. Additionally, it can increase the movement of nutrient-rich fluids, water, and oxygen into the discs, promoting healing.

What Does Spinal Decompression Treat?

Spinal Decompression can be an extremely beneficial treatment option for a variety of reasons, including:

Herniated Discs

When the disc between your body and spine is hurt, it’s called a herniated disc. It can be hard to move because the pain makes you want to stay still. When you have a herniated disc, it is important to rest and take care of yourself until the pain goes away.

Bulging Discs

A bulging disc is a disc that has been injured and is protruding out from its normal position. This can cause pain, numbness, and tingling in the affected area.

Degenerative Disc Disease

Degenerative disc disease is a condition that affects the discs in your spine. The discs can become weak and thin over time, which can lead to pain and other problems.

Sciatica

Sciatica is when there is a pain in your lower back that sometimes extends down your buttocks and legs. Sometimes, this can happen when a person has a herniated disc, bulging disc, or degenerative disc disease.

Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a condition that happens when the spinal column becomes narrower. This can cause problems like pain, numbness, and tingling.

Does Spinal Decompression Hurt?

Spinal Decompression Therapy is generally a gentle and soothing treatment that is typically painless in most cases. Some patients with significant disc damage may experience minor discomfort during their first few treatments.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions you will need will depend on your condition. In some cases, you may only need a few sessions to see results. However, in other cases, you may need to undergo spinal decompression therapy for several weeks or months. Will work with you to build a treatment plan for your specific needs.

6 months of struggling and barely able to walk to my car. Chiropractic wasn't helping so I decided to see these guys. One visit with Dr. Sean and I was able to walk without pain. He took the time to get images instead of just working blind. First time I've walked without pain in a very long time.
